Which kind of Facebook marketing are you doing?
There’s two options for marketing martial arts (not fitness) on Facebook.
#1. Is extraction marketing. You open a Facebook account run nothing but ads, usually some kind of discount ad, and you grab as many leads as you can. This works initially, but once the low hanging fruit is gone, the leads start to dwindle.
#2. Engagement marketing. You run video’s and images with the intent of telling a story, of educating everyone in your community (trade area) and helping them to understand the great benefits of training at your school.
So let’s do a test. Watch the 3 minute video below, try to watch it with the eyes of a mother or father that’s never trained before. When you’re done compare to the ad below the video.
This is a spot that 10’s of 1000’s of people are seeing around the Gracie BBj center in L.A;
Now compare the video to any discount ad out there; 6 weeks for $69, 4 weeks for $49…
One is going to tell the community what goes on at your school, how powerful training can be and gets students to enroll immediately, the other you get to chase discounted intro’s around for a month trying to double the price of their tuition.
So, which school would you take your child too…?
The video takes more work (good, your lazy competitors won’t do it)
Extraction vs engagement folks, which are you going to do?
Ps, here’s a couple bonus engagement ads;
