Geniuses and Knuckleheads
We have some really, realy smart people in the martial arts profession. In fact, there are some people I would classify as geniuses, and if not geniuses, at least innovators of the highest degree.
These people have had a profound effect on the martial arts world over the last 50 years.
They have helped schools to move from garages to million dollar facilities.
They have taken martial arts from a military mindset to an empowering program that millions of people have enjoyed and benefited from.
They have taught us how to make a great living doing what we love most.
These are the givers of our great profession.
And we have our knuckleheads.
The ones who are in the business only to stroke their overblown egos or to figure the next way to overcharge students, or even moreso, how to become a guru and scam school owners out of their hard-earned money with promises of overnight success.
As martial artists, we have choices as to who we want to support and associate with.
It’s about that one thing we always talk about: character. Some got it; some don’t.
It’s your choice, and your choice is going to decide the direction of martial arts for the next generation of owners. Please choose well.
